Stuffing My Face I Lost 7lbs

I have been on a “diet” but not really for about 10 days now. I dont have a certain amount of points or calories. I really dont have any rules really. So im not sure that i can even call it a diet, b ut heres what i am doing. Instead of setting all these “i cant have this” “i cant have that” rules and totally over whelming myself. Basically setting me up for instant failure like the last hundred diets i went on. I decided that theres two things i love that are the worst thing i could eat. Theres two things that are just ruining my life. Ok not ruining, thats a bit extreme. Chips! Soda! Doritos! Mountain Dew! To be more specific. When eating anything i like have to have Chips or something potatoey…. Potatoey? Yeah that fits. In the mornings i often have a Mountain Dew Code Red. That stuff is Crack! Cracking open a can of that glowing red sweet bliss just makes mondays bearable. Having one late at night like 1 am while i play video games? WTF was i thinking? I used to weight 175lbs… 6 years ago. And now im 270lbs? Thats basically 16lbs a year since i was 21! You know that freshman 5 or whatever its called? Ya that freshman year never ended for me… I drank that weight on and never stopped.

So basically i am not drinking soda or eating chips with my meals. I detoxed for 7 days having nothing to drink but water. Ive completely cut out chips from my diet as well. Im not starving myself like before. Instead ive introduced more fruit into my diet. When im craving a sweet snack i have a banana or an apple or maybe an orange. Although growing up in cali nothing is as sweet as a ripe California Orange picked right off the tree. I have been eating healthier, its not too hard making healthier decisions on what to eat. Most places you go have meals around 500 calories. I love turkey sandwiches and i actually prefer wheat bread over white bread. I have a Forman grill and cooking a chicken breast is so easy on there. So over this last week a typpical day as far as my meals go have been: bowl of cereal, water(ive been driking lots of water)an apple a couple hours later, then a banana and a sandwich for lunch(usually turkey with fat free cheese and mustard) then some yogurt or more fruit and then chicken for dinner with some rice(yes white rice i know)

Well all these low calorie days has led to me losing 7 pounds. And i havent even been working out. Wait until i start jogging again. That will really help with my weight loss. But i know that i will definitely need to eat a little more when im working out. The whole point of this post is that ya im not making crazy weight loss i have made progress. I just need to stick with it. The second point to this post is that it proves that to lose weight you dont have to starve yourself. On the contrary… Ive practically ate all day long. I just chose low calorie meals. Heck i even ate at taco bell today haha… I just had the steak soft taco with just lettuce. And had a water to drink. Its not hard. But i do remember t reward myself or give in to a craving every now and athen. Over the last 10 days of my weight loss i had chinese food. So what i dont feel guilty. Ive done well and i will continue to do well. Got to stay motivated cuz i want to be healthy and be there for my son when im older.

Hello Mars, Goodbye Facebook

So its late and I just got home from watching the new Spider-Man.(Which I liked better then the original) Decided to check Facebook before heading to bed. I laid in bed and from my HTC Evo I opened up my Facebook app FriendCaster. Scrolling through I see lots of horoscopes, which I skip, I’m not into that. I see pictures, but not of friends. Just shared pics. Lots of damn song lyrics too. I found nothing of interest too me save for my friends son’s 5th bday. Since that took about a minute I thought I’d check in on Google+. I’ll admit I don’t use it very much any more. I use twitter mainly. I should have never checked my Google Plus. I’m only kidding, but I did spend the next 45 minutes reading post after post of stuff I was actually interested in. I was actually interacting. Not just scanning through.

Now that I’m done reading on Google Plus for the night I decided that somethings got to change. Facebook is pretty much pointless. It is called a Social network, yet your not allowed to socialize. Its more like a social network taking place in prison. I almost never see posts from my brother. I have to go to his profile page just to see what’s been going on. Why? Cuz Facebook filters what you see based off of your interactions with people. Even though I interact with my brother everyday, its usually not through facebook. I find this annoying and stupid.

Using twitter in conjunction with Google Plus is all I really need. I socialize in these two places making new connections weekly. Learning things, reading things that actually interest me. Not about Aquarius and how their days supposed to go or sweet offers of tilling someones garden on farmville.

So I really need to thank NASA and the landing of the Rover on Mars! Its every other post on my Google Plus timeline. But it was interesting and space exploration is something I’m very interested in. Yet why did I not see one post on Facebook covering the event? So my time on Facebook is coming to an end. Ill have to save my pictures if I delete it. I think i might just keep it so I can stay in the cool kids circle lol. Not! I think by deleting it. Others will be forced to interact with me in real life instead of through pokes and likes. Good bye Facebook, you have always been more boring than any other social site. Thanks for nothing.

Vote 4 The People

What are we going to do? What is in store for the future of our nation? It scares the crap out of me just thinking about it. No really its what I think about when I’m constipated. I dont really like taking medicine. Seriously though… I’m not one that is an expert on any topic. I dabble in a little bit of everything. But I’ve been reading, listening(podcasts & radio) and watching. I’m freaking lost. Like an ant that’s lost its trail. We have Obama, the nations first black president. Who built his campaign off of CHANGE and YES WE CAN. He inherited a freaking mess for sure. While the US was already headed into a recession as Bush was taking office, Bush and his minions secured our decline. –Thanks guys…. fucking pricks– but what has he done to improve our nations problems. Sure, its not a quick fix. But usually by now we should be seeing some improvements. The unemployment rate dropping, the dollar strengthened. But nothing, just a continued downward spiral in my note book. Obama has failed us.

I think it is time for a change. Obama scares me. His ties with the Muslim Brotherhood are just suspicious. But let’s put all that aside. I have friends, well I used to anyways before I started working non stop. And those friends started their own business in the wireless industry. They started small and worked their way up. Yet Barack Obama says they didn’t build that business… these two friends sacraficed their love for one another to build this business. They are now divorced through all the stresses if building a business. And you say the government gave that to them? I think not! Hell I’m not even a business owner, but I remember leaving home at 20 years old with $50 and the clothes I had on. Moved 5 hours north in California. Started with basically nothing. Now I am a Store manager, I’m married, I live in a brand new town home and I own 3 cars. Did the government give me that too? NO! That was me! I had ups and Downs, depressed and completely lost. I even moved 3000 miles to North Carolina on a chance. No government or president gave me what I have. I earned it. I deserve it. So how can I vote for Obama who thinks he gave me the luxuries I have? That’s total disrespect.

Ok well who else can I vote for…? Romney? Man this dudes scary too. He’s a liar I’m sure.(well duh, he’s a politician) but he expects things of others yet not of himself. He’s always asked that his opponents reveal their taxes. Yet he never shows his. I’m confused. Now I’ve been reading that he is now starting to reveal personal financial information. Of what I’m not 100% on. But at the same time he doesn’t look like a better option than Obama either. I feel like I could be elected and besides the speech part of the job just surround myself with amazing advisors and do a better job than these two wackos. (I’m done fantasizing about becoming President) In all seriousness, what are we to do? Pick the lesser of the two evils? If so I’m voting Romney. A change is needed. But the change needed, needs to come from us, the people. Because you know Washington DC ain’t about to help us out. They’re to self diluted to see what’s really going on. So how about we vote for the people? Is that a choice on the ballot?

Are You Rooted?

If not you should definitely check out talking to a psychologist and get root access to your inner self. The benefits of knowing why you make the choices you make in life would be unlimited. That applies to your android or even your iPhone. Since you are capable of rooting why not? By rooting your device and flashing a recovery you are able to create a complete back up of your phone. Everything save the SD card content is saved and can be installed at any time. What rooting does is gives you access to the root folders of the device and the ability to edit them. There are apps in the Google Play store that require root access. The biggest of these is Titanium Backup Pro. It backs up all of your applications and system data. It is capable of installing all of your apps and the settings of each apps. I have my device backed up weekly. You can even have your files backed up and automatically uploaded to your dropbox account.

Just because you root your device doesn’t mean that you need to flash a ROM. A ROM is basically a zip file compiled by someone that has everything necessary for a device to run. It’s basically an OS in a zip file. ROMs change how android looks runs and can enhance your phones abilities. For example, when using Cyanogen Mod 7 you can flash(install) different kernels. By doing this I am able to regulate the speed of my CPU. I have an app I purchased from the Play Store called SetCPU. This app allows me to change the speed of the CPU based on conditions of the device. If the battery is less than 20% I could cut the speed of the CPU down to half. This saves battery. Personally I have it set to drop down to about 400Mhz, when the screen is off. Then I have it “On Demand” (this feature drops the CPU down low but automatically ups the CPU power as needed) this also saves battery by not running the CPU at a constant 1Ghz. This ROM CM7 is your basic flavor of android. You don’t have HTC Sense or Samsung TouchWiz sticking their fingers in every aspect of android and changing it. Because the ROM isn’t so memory heavy it runs smoother and gives you better battery life.

There are many other popular ROMs out there to download. Each person finds their own that works great for them based off of how they use their device. Beware flashing ROMs becomes addicting. That is your warning.

Again all rooting does is allow you to enhance your devices. It even makes the iPhone functional. I’m only kidding, but in all seriousness it does give you the ability to add useful features to the iPhone that it should have but doesn’t. So go to Google type how to root YOUR DEVICE NAME. Who knows you may actually start to like your device.

XDA-Developers is a great place for resources definitely check it out.
