Samsung’s ChatOn instant messaging service hits 100 million registered users

http://www.appy-geek.com/Web/ArticleWeb.aspx?regionid=1&articleid=13628411

ChatOn hits 100 million users! That’s pretty impressive considering I’ve never even used the app. Ok that’s not really impressive. I’m a registered user and my interaction with it was only on the first day I had my S4. How many active users daily are there on ChatOn? That would be a much better number to know. I use whatsapp and Google Hangouts daily. These are great chat apps which the friends I talk to use frequently.

What chat apps do you use more?

AT&T makes Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Gear pricing official

http://www.appy-geek.com/Web/ArticleWeb.aspx?regionid=1&articleid=13630317

I’m very disappointed in the pricing of this watch. The galaxy gear should be a lot less expensive. Feels like an apple move to price it so high.

Google Launches Web Designer, A Visual Tool For Building Interactive HTML5 Sites And Ads

http://www.appy-geek.com/Web/ArticleWeb.aspx?regionid=1&articleid=13629166

It’s always nice to have a full tool belt, unless you’re in a deep body of water. Googles Web Designer makes creating ads easier. There’s not many tools out there to help advertisers with creating content to fit all the different screen sizes out there. This tool will not only help with that, but also help in creating web pages too. It’s only in beta so there’s sure to be a few bugs.

Google’s Open Project mirrors smartphone apps on big screens, but takes it one step further

http://www.appy-geek.com/Web/ArticleWeb.aspx?regionid=1&articleid=13549126

This people is innovation. Taking things that we currently have and making them better. Pushing current tech further. I love watching projects like this progress. Maybe now apple will step up their game. I haven’t seen anything good come from the apple labs in awhile.

Serious question. What is Apple currently working on? I can’t catch all the news but I seriously don’t see anything very innovative coming from them.

Standstill

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/09/24/daily-prompt-stillness/

image

My alarm goes off. Like an involuntary blink of your eye I hit the snooze button. I wasn’t ready to start my day. My 3 year old comes in jumping on me. Yelling, “daddy wake up! The sun is up!” I just lay there trying not to open my eyes.

Then my wife calls for little Noah. It’s time for them to go. My son jumps on me squeezes my neck and gives me a kiss on the cheek. If time could stand still, I’d freeze that moment when he hugged me. Just to stay like that. No need to change anything. It’s a precious moment that lasts all of 5 seconds in reality, but it’s how I start my day off on the right foot. It’s why I come to work and sacrifice my time so that he can have the things he needs as well as the things he wants.

Samsung Asks: Why Do So Many People Wait In Line for iPhones

http://www.appy-geek.com/Web/ArticleWeb.aspx?regionid=1&articleid=13309779

As much as I hate on Apple you got to give credit where credits due. Apple changed the game with the release of the iPhone. You can’t give them all the credit as other companies had devices well before the iPhone such as Palm and Microsoft. However, no one focused on aesthetics as much as Apple.  This forced everyone else to follow through.

Many companies, namely Samsung, seek to emulate Apple in hopes to attain the same success. So it’s no surprise that they are asking such questions and investigating. This may be frowned upon by Apple fans. This is good though. If a company like Samsung can improve their products making them better than Apple’s. Then Apple will be forced to also make theirs better. This is how we progress.  So as much as I prefer to not use Apple’s products I appreciate those who sacrifice their money and time on iOS.
