In Depth: Straight Talk Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile: is ditching contracts worth it?

28 Oct

This article was really helpful to me. Figured I’d share it with you but save you sometime. Basically, its not a piece of cake to bring a phone from a different carrier too straight talk. With ATT and T-Mobile it wasn’t too difficult. However, with Verizon it was near impossible. Once you finally get it working via website shenanigans and customer service it works just fine. They found that data speeds were comparable to the higher priced carriers. 15Mbs down.

This looks like a great alternative to these ridiculously priced mobile plans. While you do get unlimited talk text and web it should be noted that they don’t know at what point they will get throttled speeds

Thank you. A friend of mine recently made the switch to Straight Talk. Had an issue with the sim card. But once he got a new Sim card everything worked. Now he’s loving it. So they’re ironing out some of the wrinkles.
