Samsung envisions a ‘display centric world’ – where even your cutting board is a display – Pocket-lint

http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/126093-samsung-envisions-a-display-centric-world-where-even-your-cutting-board-is-a-display

The future is already here. Check out that article on what Samsung wants to achieve. The idea are cool but with our current tech they would be annoying. We need better battery tech imo

I Don’t Have Time For This!

For anyone that has ever worked or is working retail right now then you can sympathize with my lack of available free time. I’m working pretty much all day right now everyday until the years end. The little time I do have out of work I’m spending it with my family. This family time is needed as this Mo the has been rough for me. So I’ve making sure to stay off my phone and computer.

This is me saying I pretty much don’t have time for you. Just kidding. I’ll be back after the holidays. I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and a safe new years. If you do t celebrate Christmas or any holiday then enjoy your weekend and also be safe.

Wearable Tech(I Want My Cake, All of It)

image

I have to say that my next tech device will probably be some form of wearable tech. I’ve been in the market for a watch, but just haven’t been impressed so far with what’s out there. The Pebble by far is the most amazing. Mainly because of how open it is as well as the amazing battery life. I like the features built into the Galaxy Gear. I see Samsung getting a lot of flack for that device, while personally I like it. But it can’t make it thru an entire day without having to charge it. Who wants a dead watch when they get off work and are headed to dinner with clients?

Yep I want my cake and eat it too. (That doesn’t make any sense, but I think you get what I mean.) I want a full featured watch I can take pictures with, respond to tweets, text and even answer calls on. I want all that and more than a days worth of battery. The tech just isn’t out for that to happen just yet, but it won’t be long until it is.

I’ve heard some of my friends’ opinions on the topic of having a camera on a watch or even Google Glass. It’s one that most don’t get. They haven’t put much thought into how useful it could be to have a camera that you don’t have to hold with your hands. For example, I had to climb under my car a few months ago and take pictures of my muffler. It was dark and I had to try and angle my flashlight just right as a struggled to also angle my big phone with one hand and capture the pic. I could have easily accomplished this with the galaxy gear. Not only that but my little boy is always doing something cute and by the time I go grab my phone and get the camera open he’s done. So I miss some opportunities to share my experiences of being a dad with family who are far away.

There are many other useful wearable tech ideas that are just now emerging. I’m excited to see this category grow and the startups take advantage of this area. What, if anything would you like to see in wearable tech?

Why Obama Care Is Ruining My Family’s Financial Status

image

I have a serious bone to pick with the President of the United States. My President. Mr Obama. Who I am completely ashamed I ever voted for. Let me explain.

First off, I’m not into politics, I think it’s a ridiculous act to be involved in. I also don’t have time to keep up with all the details as things are always changing. It’s hard enough to keep up with tech trends as well as fashion trends. So I’m not one that could adequately carry on a conversation about all the intricacies of the ACA, better known as Obama Care or most political topics. I just read enough to get pissed off. I’m not going to get started about how the Obama administration is trying to capitalize on the tragedy of others to push their agendas through. However, what I can tell you is what I’m about to go through because of the changes Obama and his minions are forcing on Americans.

Let me start off by saying that I personally don’t believe that every American should have health care. Don’t take that statement any farther then just what I said. I believe that every American should have what he works for. Health care is not a necessity. People used to have to pay for health care costs out of their own pocket which was known as fee-for-service business model. Health insurance started as more of an accident insurance for work related incidents. Now it covers routine visits and stuff like that. That’s my opinion on the topic.

Currently I pay $200 a month for health insurance that covers my wife, son, and myself. I think that is an awesome price and completely reasonable based on my income. Which up to a couple months ago was my choice to have. Now Obama is trying to help out the middle class and get everyone insurance. Great this is going to be awesome right? Nope! Now because Obama is going to provide free health care to those that can’t afford it, it others have to foot the bill.

OK so I figure my health care cost might go up a little. I’m ok with that, I can handle that. But here is what’s really going on. My insurance is set to raise to $350 a month. THATS $150 MORE A MONTH! Now that I can’t afford. Like I wouldn’t be able to cover my rent. So what can I do about this? Maybe I can get my health care through the government since it was created to help people who can’t afford insurance. Well I don’t qualify. Surprise, surprise! So I can’t even drop my insurance because by law I have to have it. Now how am I to feed my family? Food stamps? Already tried that, I don’t qualify.

So the whole point of the ACA was to help the middle class. I’m the middle class and this is destroying me. I make just enough to support my family and I work hard. We bring in $60k a year combined. There is absolutely no reason for us to be struggling. Mr Obama I say this with much respect, you are single handedly destroying america and the foundation it was built on.

Currently my best option would be for me to quit my job, move back in with my dad, and get on welfare, food stamps and Medicaid. I would actually be happier. I would get to spend more time with my family and not be stressed. But then I would be completely reliant on the government. I feel like this is exactly what they are trying to do. Force Americans to rely on the government. That’s not how this is supposed to work.

I’m not going to fold and fall into your scheme. I’m going to struggle at first, but I’m going to find a way to beat your system! I just can’t see how the President can say he is American. Doesn’t seem to be a single capitalist bone in his body. Sorry I just had to rant for a few minutes.

Worker’s Dying At iPhone 5C Supplier Pegatron

Worker’s Dying At iPhone 5C Supplier Pegatron

http://www.techfaster.com/workers-dying-iphone-5c-supplier-pegatron/

This is ridiculous! I feel like I work a lot. I hit 60+ hours ago the time. But a 15 year old doing it? I think with all the money Apple has that it should be investing in the companies that help make them so much of that money. There’s no way that a 15 year old passed for a 20 year old. There’s also no way that anyone should be working these kinds of hours. I get it though that not everyone is as fortunate as myself or even the people reading this blog. So working this hours is helping them survive and provide for their family. BUT AT WHAT COST? Working yourself to death helps no one in the long run.

It’s a tragedy that conditions like this even exist in this world. Even worse that a company as successful as Apple is constantly involved with companies that are abusing it’s workers. This is one of the many reasons that I don’t purchase any Apple products. I don’t know what other companies associate themselves with factories like the one mentioned in the link above. I hope companies like Google don’t, because it would definitely change my opinion about them. I like that Google and Motorola teamed up to manufacture phones in the US. That’s amazing that they were able to do that.

This isn’t really to bash Apple…. Haha just kidding. I’ll take any opportunity to talk down about Apple. Nothing to do with me being an Android fan. The company does so many things that are un-american. Well they better save the money they do have, because without Jobs the company is doomed.
