Distressed Beginnings

11 Jun

With eyes shut wide open
I remember…
I can see the dust I smell
Thru rays of hope shining in
Surrounded by shades of brown
Depressing the walls that suffocate me
A record scratches nearby in the background
Drowned by screams of distress
A panicked storm brews
I heard a thunderous sound that rattled the house
I see the pain marked across her face
This was the beginning of the end of my beginning
… And then I remember to forget

Hitting a woman is never Ok. It’s never forgotten.  My heart is still scarred from this day when I was just 7 years old.
