Apple: The Origin Of Inspiration Behind Apple Watch

Business Insider reports the origin of the Apple Watch idea

Haha… Can I just say that I kind of called it in my article here: Apple Watch

At least they were truthful. I am still excited about this category of wearables. I think this watch will undergo a cosmetic change before its final release.

The Verge -Windows 9 Event
So this is happening… Microsoft announces a Windows 9 event set to take place Sept 30th in SF, CA. I’m still on Windows 7; by choice though. I purchased the last win7 laptop that my local Best Buy had. Either way I saw this and I got to thinking…

How cool would it be if I could be there at this event? I would love to be at these press releases and send you guys information as I learn it. Get to discover hands on the newest products. I would love to do that. I just want to share my passion for needy things with others who enjoy this kind of thing. Why can’t I do this and get paid for it… Dreaming big…

iPhone 6 Poised To Set Records

Apple revealed to us that 4 million iPhone 6 & 6+ have been pre-ordered in the first 24 hours. It’s no surprise that records will be set this year for Apple. More people use smartphones today then back in 2012 when the iPhone 5 was released. Besides that though, the way people use their phones has changed dramatically.

Apple is set to make some huge profits on this release. Check out the graphic below. Apple is charging more for the iPhone then they are for the iPad AIR or the iPad mini. That’s just ridiculous. The price people pay to sit with the cool kids…

iPhone 6 preorder madness is causing sites, networks to shut down | BGR

http://bgr.com/2014/09/12/iphone-6-preorder-madness/

No surprise here. The iPhone 6 will sell and sell like crazy. It’s unbelievable the following Apple has. Well not unbelievable since Apple used to be great. I try to get on board and I can’t. There’s all this hype built up over the year of what Apple is going to release. Now the event has come and gone. What has the tech world gained?

NOTHING!

Once upon a time Apple used to help push technology forward. Not this time though. They released a watch that could have been released last year. The iPhone IMO is lacking. It’s a good solid device no doubt. But so is the iPhone 5. There’s nothing impressive about the device.

I know I’m being super critical on the announcement of their watch. It’s not even released yet nor does it look like a finished product. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Apple Watch looks different when it is actually released.

Why I Am Frustrated With Apple

So now that Apple is most definitely coming out with phones that have larger screens Android user now have a choice to make. Stick with Android or convert. (It’s like a religion, it’s a big dealm) Maybe I’m just a fanboy, tease me, call me what you like. I present only facts about why Android is better then anything Apple has. That’s a pretty bold statement huh? To be honest it’s not entirely true. Everyone has different needs in a device and for me Android fits what I need. It’s not really that Android is better, but that companies continue to improve upon its features. Even after the announcement that the new iPhone would come with NFC, I don’t think iOS users know how useful NFC can be for things other than payments.

While the iPhone 6 is a decent upgrade from the iPhone 5. It’s most definitely not worth upgrading if you already have the 5S. Check out the graphic below.

This isn’t to bash Apple at all. This is just to point out that they aren’t leading the way anymore. What are they doing? When the first gen iPhone was released it was revolutionary compared to that of Windows mobile. It was worth paying as much as they charged for Apple products,  because you were paying for the work that went into building that device.

Mobile phones are pretty advanced now and there’s just not much left to do to make them look so different from their predecessors. So the fact that the iPhone still looks practically the same is nothing bad. They added a curved edge to make swiping smoother, which is bad ass. Come on though, they couldn’t add wireless charging, an IR blaster, or even split screen apps to the 6 Plus? Why not water proof?

It’s just disappointing if you are an Apple fan that you are just now getting features android users have had for years. I bet now that the iPhone finally has NFC that we will see tap to pay everywhere. Thanks Apple, you are about to make a lot of android users life more convenient.

On a good note, the OS looks clean and smooth, as always. And I don’t care what any Android user says. iMessage is awesome. I wish google would get on that and copy it. Haha…

Anyone switching? The phone looks beautiful.

The Wait Is Over, Apple Watch

image

Well Tim Cook elected to drop the ‘i’ brand with new product line and added ‘Apple’ instead. So all we got was an Apple Watch. All the hype that had been building up in what seems years, left us wanting more then what was delivered. I find myself having to try to like Apples products, but i just cant buy into their system. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus look like decent devices I’ll touch on that in another post. The Apple Watch though looks like nothing other then an iPod strapped to your wrist…. No? It doesn’t?

image

Oh snap look at that! iPod nano on a beautiful leather wristband. Say what you want, but I think that looks even better then what Apple just released the other day. Apple waits and waits and waits… My fault for assuming that they were waiting so that they could improve upon the design of smartwatches. Instead they release a device that looks just like the Galaxy Gear that was released last year this month. I’m just saying, I’m pretty disappointed in what I saw. Apple could have done so much more to help push technology forward. I feel like Apple trying to move away from the iMac branding created back in 1998 is a bad idea. I’m no business genius, but Steve Jobs had a good thing going. To me it looks like Tim Cook needs to learn when to say “no!” Steve would have never let that watch get released looking like that.

My View Of The NFL and Ray Rice

My View Of The NFL and Ray Rice

I am just one person and my opinion really means nothing to anyone other than myself. That is perfectly fine, you should draw your own conclusions for yourself. However, I love sharing my thoughts and stirring the pot just a little. That being said I fully believe that Ray Rice should NOT be suspended indefinitely from the NFL. Here is why…

First of all this whole incident should be about the protecting the victim. That video should not have been made public, making her go through this horrible event all over again. This happened back in February and a punishment was handed out. Ray Rice did what he was supposed to do. He went to weekly counseling meetings as well as marriage counseling. He was handed a two game suspension as well. Of course this isn’t appropriate punishment for the crime. The NFL should have been harsher on Ray from the get go. Shortly after this event the NFL came out with new rules, which stated 6 weeks minimum suspension for first time offenders. Now we are here in the present and a video of Ray Rice hitting his wife is made public. What happens next? The NFL tries to save face by suspending him from the NFL indefinitely.

My biggest problem is that this wasn’t done to provide justice to Janay Rice. This was done to protect their investment. To keep people coming to the games. And now, this morning it is discovered that the NFL might have seen this video months ago? It wasn’t until the video was made public that they handed out a harsher punishment? To me that is unamerican! Once a criminal is convicted and sentence while he is completing his punishment you dont take him back to court and punish him again for getting better.

Just saying this is embarrassing on the NFL’s part. In no way am I condoning what Ray did or justifying it in any way. Just saying, I don’t think Ray Rice should be banned for the entire season.
