My Wife Is Too Sweet

My Wife Is Too Sweet

image

I woke up this morning after my wife had left for work and found this in the bathroom. This is so awesome and completely sweet of her to do.

My wife is not into sports at all. She doesn’t get the competitive nature of guys. So this completely surprised me. I still have no idea where were going to watch the game. But I’m so appreciative that she’s doing this, I could careless if we’re watching it at home. As long as were watching it together.

The Niners Dismantled

The Niners Dismantled

image

Well damn… that was embarrassing. The San Francisco 49ers just got destroyed out they’re on the field. There was a lot of missed opportunity and failure to execute practiced plays. But bravo for playing hard.

If you don’t follow football that’s fine. I’m too busy myself to keep up with all the updates and injury reports. Here’s your update… The 49ers are hurting. Plain and simple, they have too many starters out to play competitively. I think every center in the game is out. They had to move an offensive linemen that doesn’t normally play center into that position. They also have a few of the top rated defensive players sitting on the sideline.

It’s going to be a rough road ahead. If you’re a Niner fan don’t fret so much. These players will return shortly and the Niners will sneak up on opponents and finish off this season strong. #NinerNation

The Underdogs

The Underdogs

I’m so excited for the San Francisco Giants. They are the clear underdogs in this match up against the St Louis Cardinals. Yet they come in to St Louis and shut them down. Very exciting start to this series… If you’re a Giants fan. Which of course I am! I also have this tradition of wearing my lucky Giants hat during the entire post season. So far it looks to be working great. Or maybe it’s that the Giants pitchers are just pitching a good game. Either way, it’s only 1 game, they have a huge battle left to be fought. Let’s go Giants! Game 2 tonight.

My View Of The NFL and Ray Rice

My View Of The NFL and Ray Rice

I am just one person and my opinion really means nothing to anyone other than myself. That is perfectly fine, you should draw your own conclusions for yourself. However, I love sharing my thoughts and stirring the pot just a little. That being said I fully believe that Ray Rice should NOT be suspended indefinitely from the NFL. Here is why…

First of all this whole incident should be about the protecting the victim. That video should not have been made public, making her go through this horrible event all over again. This happened back in February and a punishment was handed out. Ray Rice did what he was supposed to do. He went to weekly counseling meetings as well as marriage counseling. He was handed a two game suspension as well. Of course this isn’t appropriate punishment for the crime. The NFL should have been harsher on Ray from the get go. Shortly after this event the NFL came out with new rules, which stated 6 weeks minimum suspension for first time offenders. Now we are here in the present and a video of Ray Rice hitting his wife is made public. What happens next? The NFL tries to save face by suspending him from the NFL indefinitely.

My biggest problem is that this wasn’t done to provide justice to Janay Rice. This was done to protect their investment. To keep people coming to the games. And now, this morning it is discovered that the NFL might have seen this video months ago? It wasn’t until the video was made public that they handed out a harsher punishment? To me that is unamerican! Once a criminal is convicted and sentence while he is completing his punishment you dont take him back to court and punish him again for getting better.

Just saying this is embarrassing on the NFL’s part. In no way am I condoning what Ray did or justifying it in any way. Just saying, I don’t think Ray Rice should be banned for the entire season.

Ray Rice Cut by Ravens After Video of Elevator Punch – ABC News

http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/ray-rice-cut-ravens-video-elevator-punch/story?id=25347953

Unfortunately, I grew up in a very abusive environment. From watching my mother get beat to having plates and other assortments thrown at me. It’s not pretty. It’s nothing you would ever do in public, in front of anyone. Fortunately for me, I used these terrible past events to make myself better. Have I been totally and completely angry with my wife? Yes. Never has the thought even crossed my mind to hit her. You just don’t take advantage of people like that.

Watching this video I think Ray Rice made a terrible decision. There are no excuses. Do not minimize what he has done by saying it was a ‘mistake’. It wasn’t just a mistake, it was a decision. He justified in his head, that in that moment it was OK for him to hit her. He deserves, just like everyone else to be punished for his actions. They are despicable and disgusting. However, should they come with the consequence that was delivered? Should he lose his entire life’s long work? That’s not my call to make. It’s sad to see someone with so much going for him fall so quickly.

This message from the NFL and the public is clear. This type of crime is not tolerated and never should have been. Here is some good for thought: if this video hadn’t ever surfaced showing the brutality of the offense Ray Rice would only be serving a two game suspension. What does that tell you about the NFL?

NFL Game Opener

I am completely stoked today. I had an easy day at work, the day seemed to just flow by quickly. Now I am at my step dad’s house watching the NFL game opener between Green Bay and Seattle. This is what I needed, a night with my dad. Yep I said dad. While 43% of children in America grow up without a father, I was lucky enough to grow up with two Fathers. After I was born my mom married my step father. More on that story some other day…

Tonight my wife decided to surprise me and show up. She doesn’t like it much at my dad’s house like most normal people wouldn’t. My dad has no AC so it was a humid 86 degrees. But she came anyways! And brought me beer! Chips! Wings! And made me bean dip! Yes the exclamation points were necessary.

So now I sit here drinking a cold Yuengling.

If you don’t know I’m a huge San Francisco 49ers fan. Which means there’s two teams that I absolutely want to see go 0-16. The St Louis Rams and the Green Bay Packers. But times have changed, the Rams are a terrible team while Seahawks get all the glory. So tonight I am rooting for the Packers. Which is weird, I feel dirty. Wish the Packers would get their shit together and actually win this game.

Super Bowl Family Traditions

This will be the first Super Bowl I watch that I won’t have a single alcoholic beverage. I’m making it a bigger deal than it really is. I’m looking at this from a perspective of health. Drinking heavily is terrible for my health. So is buffalo wings and chips and dip and soda. Working on one thing at a time.
Throwing somewhat of a Super Bowl party. Going to have friends and family over.

This got me thinking about traditions. Do you have any? I do not. My family has nothing that it does every year together. I guess it’s strange in comparison to some of my friends. Maybe that’s how my family is unique from others. We find different things to do each year.
